It's Scott the hero, not Ross in the end.
Crows welcomed back Ross Treleaven to the club for an exciting pairing up front with his brother Scott in what will be viewed as a major coup by Manager , Sean Muggeridge .
The managerless hosts had just come off the back of a 6-1 reverse at Lingfield in mid week so expectancy was high for the visitors , but as we know there are no easy games in this division .
Lords with the wind at their backs caused Crows early problems and Collick was almost caught out when trying to clear slipped but recovered to smother the ball before Morison could intervene.
Early free kick for Crows causes a bout of head tennis in the Lords area as Will Jagger and Wayne Clarke get up well and Ross Trealeven gets a shot away which is taken at the near post by Byott in the home goal.
Collick is forced into a smart save low down as Lords threaten as both sides struggle with the bitter wind and bumpy pitch .
Hinkson plays the ball back to Collick but his pass is played short and Hurcomb is on it like a flash but the keewper manages to push him wide and his cross shot is blocked by a covering Jagger who manages to get back.
Crows are living a bit dangerously and winger Hallett gets in a good position on the left but elects to hit the ball early and the ball dips over Collicks crossbar .
Some excellent control from Ross Treleaven and a terrific cross fashions a chance but nobody has gambled and got in the box and the ball goes right across and is cleared .
Both Treleaven brothers are holding the ball up well aided by some neat play from Ridley and Clarke but to Lords credit they are closing down very quickly .
Again a long ball is chased down by the hosts but Hallett lobs over Collick and the bar , Crows respond and a great run by Ross Treleaven latching onto a through ball , rounds Byott but is pushed wide and the ball is cleared .
A great run by full back Hinkson who fires in a dipping drive from distance deserved better as Crows are beginning to respond
Then just on thirty five minutes the deadlock is broken as Hurcomb given a bit to much time and space reacts to a bouncing ball , someway out , and hits a great shot that arrows pass Collick to put Lords one –nil up .
Crows respond well and Clarke put through by Scott Treleaven Is just beaten to the ball by Byott , Will Jagger gets a Yellow for handball , although it did look like an initial push by the centre forward .
Crows are pushing for an equaliser and Hinkson gets in a great cross from the left and Scott Ttrealeven has a chance but Byott gathers at the second attempt .
H/T LORDS 1 v CROWS 0 .
Crows started the second half strongly , with the wind at their backs and determined to get the ball down and play , certainly the general interplay would have had better results on a better pitch , but full credit to Crows with persevering with the tactic .
With both Treleaven brothers prepared to hold the ball up and some of the first time passing involving Clarke and Ridley It looked like a better game .
Just like red buses the visitors not only arrive at one goal but two in the space on a minute , firstly Scott Trealeven weaves his way through from the left into the box and the ball strikes the outstretched hand of Lillis and the referee points to the spot .
Ball to hand , hand to ball ? the conditions played a part but a good call for the Crows .
Only one outcome as the ever reliable Captain Jason Barton steps up and coolly beats Byott for his seventeenth of the season to bring the scores level on fifty one minutes .
Buoyed by the turn around Crows almost from the restart win the ball and a swift interchange involving Clarke and a One –Two between the Treleaven brothers sees Scott turn and fire in an effort that deceives Byott and the ball loops over his dive and rolls in to net to give Crows the advantage .
Alex Rich gives way to Jack Funnell on fifty eight minutes .
Scott and Ross Trealeaven again cause problems and the latters shot comes back of the post and he reacts first but his rising shot goes over the bar .
Lords to their credit respond well and a terrific low cross with “ goal “ written all over it is completely missed by the Lords forward , no doubt the surface playing its part .
Lords press and from a corner Captain Huggens gets in a firm header but Collick is well placed to save .
On seventy three minutes Clarke and Mcliheron go in for a block tackle and it’s the home player comes off worse and Clarke gets a yellow card , rather unluckily as he stayed on his feet .
Again Lords throw men forward and Wooldridge with a speculative effort hits the top of the bar from distance on the right , a warning to Crows they were going to have to fight all the way .
Barton makes a timely clearance as Lords threaten to break through .
Ryan Waterman replaces Callum Ridley on eighty two minutes .
Crows then finish strongly , Ross Trealeven trys a free kick from distance but it goes wide , Clarke and Tom Cameron combine brilliantly on right and the young full back gets behind the home defence on the by-line and fires across goal but somehow the defenders clear off the line.
It's left to Scott Treleaven to have the last word as eager to add to his goal having been out for so long first shoots past the post then on the stoke of full time races in from the left for a one on one with the keeper but Byott makes a fine brave save to prevent a third goal for the visitors .
Crows run out 2-1 winners , credit to Lordswood for making it a difficult game but Crows will be delighted with the points and the second half performance .
