Treleaven again is the main man up front.
With a fine home win under their belt, the first team went on their merry way to Rochester in good spirits and looking for their first away win in the SCEFL.
Early indications from the kick off suggested that the home side were better than the Lingfield side who visited us on Tuesday as they went on the offensive right from the kick off.
The Spartans got the ball forward at every opportunity, which favoured their fleet-footed front line, and Hampson in the Crow's goal, saved a shot with his feet in the nick of time.
The tactic of getting the ball forward as quickly as possible definitely caused problems for the Crows defenders who had to work hard to keep them at bay in the early stages.
For the Crows, the main outlet seemed to be Scott Treleaven once more and one of his surging runs ended up with him putting in a dangerous cross, however, it was eventually well cleared by the home defence.
Waterman then linked well with Treleaven but the danger was cleared and then a spell of free kicks was ended when a thunderous shot from distance by the home sides top scorer, Gundry, strikes the post and rebounds to safety.
This event seemed to wake the Crows up and driven on by their captain, Jason Barton, they started to get some joy against the home side by attacking down the flanks. Barton and Waterman were looking to connect at every opportunity and it was from one of these efforts, that saw Waterman play Treleaven in and his well struck angled shot nestled nicely in the corner of the net to make it one nil up to the Crows.
As is often the case, you are most vulnerable when you've just scored and it took all of 4 minutes for the home side to make it 1-1 after a goalmouth scramble that saw Gundry fire the ball past Hampson and in to the net.
The goal gave Rochester a lift and they had a penalty appeal turned down by the referee and for his protestations the home player found himself in the referee's black book.
By now the Crows definitely looked rattled and the home side increased the pressure even more as first team goalkeeper, Hampson, saved well from Cooper and had a narrow escape when former Spartan player, Connor Charlton, was caught in possession and Gundry scuffed his shot wide whilst under pressure from Boddy.
The visitors held out though and started to get back in to the game, Treleaven had a snap shot saved and Waterman had a looping header, from a Treleaven cross, plucked from under the bar by the home goalkeeper.
However, it was the home side who scored next with 5 minutes of the half remaining, Tear was booked for a rather innocuous challenge and from the resulting free kick Cooper eventually put the ball in the net after the defence had enough chances to clear the ball.
The Crows showed great spirit though by making the score 2-2 right on half time and it was that man again, Scott Treleaven, who latched on to Charlton's headed pass and beat the home 'keeper low down after racing in to the area.
For the second half, the Crows had to make a change during the break as Dan Tear, who had taken a knock in the first period, was unable to carry on and therefore replaced by the returning Michael Ademiluyi.
This resulted in Rich reverting to his more usual left back role and Cameron moving over to the right back position. Ademiluyi's pace earned the Crows a corner but Barton fired over and at the other end, Gundry headed over Hampson but the ball struck the upright and was cleared by Cameron.
With the scores still 2-2 and both sides having chances, Treleaven firing over for the visitors and the home pressure resulting in a booking for Boddy, the Crows made an attacking substitution in an effort to win the game, as Morrison replaces Charlton after 60 minutes.
After 65 minutes though it was 3-2 to the home side as Berry was allowed to advance towards the Crows goal and his strike takes a deflection and goes in past the helpless Hampson.
With this impetus the home side get on top again, two players, when well placed make a hash of a gilt edged chance but Gundry scores again to make it 4-2 as his powerful header from a deep cross gives Hampson no chance.
To the Crow's credit, they never gave up and now it was the hosts turn to come under severe and constant pressure as Treleaven, Barton and especially Morrison made life very difficult for the home defenders.
In the end the pressure resulted in a defender bringing Treleaven down in the area, which earns him a booking and Barton duly converts the penalty to make it 4-3 to Rochester United. However, the Crows just could not get the equaliser as efforts from Ademiluyi and Morrison were either well saved or went fractionally wide.
The Crows were clearly unhappy with the result as to score three goals away from home should normally get you something but at least they are scoring now and it won't be long before another team gets a hammering from the team.
Scott Treleaven for his all-round display was the Crow's Man of the Match.
