It was a new look Crowborough that had recent Tunbridge Wells signings Sam Phillips and Scott Whibley in the starting line up with Elliot Wood also making the team for the first time this season.
Crowborough made a solid start to the match with Phillips and Whibley stamping their mark on the game by adding some steel to the young Crowborough team. On 25 minutes the Crows made a rare defensive error when Connor Saunders was left unmarked to head home strongly from a Carl Dunk corner to put the home team one up. The Crows fought back strongly and in an even first half were unlucky not to draw level when a towering header from Dave Adams just went the wrong side of the post.
Crowborough started the second half the more purposefully pushing their opponents back and it was no surprise when the equaliser came. There was a mix up in the Peacehaven area where goalkeeper Jake Buss came out for a cross but was beaten to the ball by Wood whose looping header hit the back of the net to the delight of the travelling fans.
Saunders and Phillips were now in control of the centre of the park and it looked as though the Crows could go on to seal a victory however it was Peacehaven who came the closest when Ben Pryor made a fine save with his outstretched leg to deny Rob O’Toole late in the game.
