The Crowborough management used this competition to give as many players as possible a pre-season run out and therefore a very different starting line-up faced Tunbridge Wells in the final as opposed to the team that played in the semi final. This approach was not followed by the Wells as they again fielded their best eleven.
With seven changes the team looked nervous at the back and were finding it difficult to cope with the physical presence of the Wells. Two first half goals for the Wells resulted in a change of formation and personnel in the second half, but it made no difference as we conceded another two. If not for our man of the match, goalkeeper Ben Head the score line would have been greater and on the day the best team won, however Richard Donaldson (playing his first game for the club) impressed and showed great potential.
