Our hosts are currently 6th in the Southern Combination Football League, Premier Division, or for those of the older generation, 6th in the Sussex County Football League, Division One, as it was when we were in it anyway.
They've played 6 games so far, winning 4 and losing 2 and in those matches they've scored 17 times and conceded 14, so they have a positive goal difference of 3 and a points total of 12, 6 points behind leaders Shoreham FC.
As we know, cup games can be quite different to league games however, it all points to a good contest between two clubs who like to play attacking football and there's no doubt that both clubs will want to progress in the Buildbase FA Vase Cup competition.
I can't remember this happening before but we'll be playing in successive games where the pitches have a running track around them, not something I like from an atmospheric point of view, however, if we get the result then I'll be happy and we'll also be wearing the red away kit as well, just as we did against Croydon FC, lucky omen may be?
