MANY CHANGES DURING THE GAME DOESN'T HARM THE CROWS.

Malcolm Boyes12 Jul 2015 - 20:46

Another three goals, another clean sheet and another useful pre-season work-out for the players.

With five of last seasons 1st team players unavailable the Crows still had 23 players to select from for this pre season match.

3rd 30mins
Ben Head, Archie Carey, Will Jagger, Connor Charlton, Alex Rich, Wayne Clarke, John Shea, Paul Butler, Rob Taylor, Sam Carrington, Michael Death

We started well and put pressure on a young side St Francis side and after 5 mins Callum Ridley fired in from 25 yards but got injured in the process, 1-0. We had numerous chances to score with great link up play between Michael Taylor, Josh Biddlecombe, Wayne Clarke and John Shea but just lacking that understanding which will come.

2nd 30 mins - Ten changes and players stepped up to the mark and again never looked like conceding a goal with no shots or attempts on target from St Francis which was a shame as the trialist goalkeeper wasn't tested. A brilliant lob by Paul Butler from 30 yards made it 2-0 and chances were coming our way all the time however it stayed 2-0 till end of this period.

Last 30 mins - the same as the previous periods with pressure building on the St Francis goal but the attempts just not finding the back of the visitors net. Then with ten minutes to go a great run by Josh Biddlecombe allowed Michael Death to score a well deserved third goal, 3-0.

Overall a good work out involving a number of players and also with a number of players missing it shows a depth to the squad as the new season approaches.
