Back to winning ways.
From fielding a squad on Saturday against St. Francis Rangers which will not look anything like the starting squad against Canterbury City on 9th August, the squad which turned up to play Bearsted FC last night at least had some familiar faces in it.
Therefore, it had more of a chance to put on a good performance for those watching and that's exactly what the Crows did. Scott Treleaven was excellent throughout, aided by another good performance by Callum Ridley and it was fitting that it was these two who scored the Crows goals in a 2-1 win.
In a game the Crows had the larger percentage of play there was only ever going to be one winner, although Bearsted FC played their part in an entertaining and competitive pre-season friendly. The away side were rather unfortunate throughout the 90 minutes, hitting the crossbar twice and the uprights twice but in the end these near misses didn't count for anything.
It was good to have Jonathan Trotter back from his holiday in Thailand and Alex Rich was available after missing out on Saturday. Khalid Mwambakale, Ryan Hinkson and Ollie Muggeridge were drafted in from the U21 squad and the Crows had two trialists in the squad, Dave Green who played his first game on Saturday and Mark Roberts, a forward, who took part in his first game last night.
The squad, with even more regulars back, play at home to East Grinstead Town FC on Saturday with a 2:00pm kick-off and the U21 squad will follow on after the first team, playing East Grinstead Town FC Reserves at 4:00pm.
