Crowborough Athletic began life under new Manager Dave Adams with an magnificent win over local neighbours Ringmer at the Crowborough Community Stadium.
Joe Dryer put the visitors ahead after the hour, before Sam Carrington levelled with 13 minutes to go. 8 minutes from time, Glen Mattern put past his own keeper to give the Crows a well earnt win.
Ringmer started well in an uneventful first period, as Dryer found Darren Lok, whose strike went over the bar.
After that, Lok crossed in to Kieran Patel, who volleyed wide of the far post from 12 yards.
Crowborough then came close to taking the lead, as Tom Saunders stroked the ball across to the sliding Sam Reid at the far post, but he was unable to divert the ball into the net.
Ringmer then went up the other end and broke the deadlock. Dave Altendorf drove the ball across the area to the unmarked Dryer, who drilled the ball past the motionless Rob Gordon and into the far corner.
The hosts then made a double substitution, with striker Charlie Ottway coming on for player/manager Adams, and Dan Tear coming on for Kev Everest, with John Hampson moving to centre-back.
Ottway had an instant impact, as Scott Treleaven did well to find the youngster, who steered the ball wide of the far post with pressure from behind from Aaron Hasan.
Boro then made their final change as Sam Saunders came on for Tom Saunders.
Crowborough then started to play, and deservedly equalized on 77. Thom Nowell’s excellent ball through picked out the run of Carrington, who got away from Sowter to drive the ball past the advancing Gary Trott and into the far bottom corner.
On 82, the home support was celebrating again. Nowell’s excellent corner from the right was flicked on by the towering Jon Trotter, and Carrington’s effort was deflected away from Trott by the knee of Mattern, and despite Kieran Mercer’s effort on the line, the ball found the net.
Crowborough had further chances to extend their lead late on, when another pin-point delivery from Nowell found Carrington, but his header was deflected over by Hasan.
In stoppage time, substitute Ottway found a way through the Ringmer defence, but his side footed shot was saved by the legs of Trott.
Crowborough now host Selsey on Saturday, hoping to continue where they left off after this fantastic comeback win.
