On Saturday 11th August the Crows travelled to play Chichester City FC in the FA Cup Extra Preliminary Round. Dave Adams side fired 5 past the hosts to progress into the next round in what was a very confident performance.
The Crows made three changes from Tuesday's game at Ringmer with Ben Head returning in goal whilst Tom Boddy and Sam Saunders replaced Jack Turner and Neil Grant. The game began with both sides having chances but failing to convert. Scott Taylor scored a great goal after 39 minutes when he shot from fully 20 yards and it screamed in to the top corner giving the home keeper no chance.
The second half started much as the first finished with the Crows on top and two quick goals followed with Scott Treleaven finishing neatly at the near post and Chris Ransome scoring from the penalty spot after Mike Culverhouse was fouled in the area.
The Crows perhaps took their foot off the gas a bit which allowed the home side to score a goal to make it 3-1 but we soon made it 4-1 and 5-1 when first Chris Ransome scored his second with a tap in at the far post and Scott Treleaven then got his second with a neat finish after beating the off-side trap. The home side did score a consolation before the end but 5-2 was a great result and should set the team up well for the next 3 home games in the league.
