Steyning Town are crowned champions after the Crows fail to win.

The Champions are known, now it is a fight for who will finish in second, third, fourth and fifth spots.

With Crowborough Athletic losing 2-1 away at Crawley Down Gatwick it meant that Steyning Town are crowned champions of the SCFL Premier Division without needing to win their final game of the season at home to already relegated AFC Uckfield Town.
Whilst it was an unlucky event that they would not get the result the Barrowmen needed to win the title, it was, until last night, still mathematically possible for the Crows to overtake them, however defeat to the Anvils ended that very feint hope.

The Crawley Down Gatwick goals were scored by Leslie and Gould, both in the first half, and whilst they lost Kilkenny early in the second half to a second yellow card, having been booked in the first half, they held out for the win.
It would appear they even scored a late consolation goal Crowborough Athletic in front of 97 fans, Ryder seemingly putting the ball in to his own net.
The Crows still have two games to play, away at Midhurst & Easebourne and at home on the last day of the season to Shoreham so the battle to finish second is still on.

AFC Uckfield Town lost 2-0 at home to Lingfield in a match that had been postponed four times previously. A Wilford penalty put them 1-0 up at the break and a second half strike by Simpson secured all three points for the visitors.

Little Common lost 2-1 at home to Eastbourne United Association in front of 136 spectators. Bunn scoring a very late consolation goal from the penalty spot for the home side after goals from Hull in the first half and Ratcliffe early in the second half put the visitors 2-0 in front.
United did have Headland, Leppard and Hull booked, and before the final whistle, Headland was sent off by the match official.

That’s the mid-week round-up done and congratulations to champions Steyning Town who have been on a fantastic run since the turn of the year, 15 games played, 14 wins and one draw, champion form indeed.
