'DIXIE' DEAN TO STEP DOWN AT LINGFIELD.

'DIXIE' DEAN TO STEP DOWN AT LINGFIELD.

Malcolm Boyes21 Apr 2015 - 09:47

Manager Dean to step down at the end of this season but will remain with the club.

Time to give someone else a go.
Dean feels that keeping Lingfield at Step 5 for the last five seasons is akin to keeping Charlton Athletic in the Barclays Premiership for the same length of time, just as Alan Curbishly did.
Dean has announced that he will be stepping down at the end of the season, after his side's clash with Southern Counties East League champions Phoenix Sports at Godstone Road on Saturday.
He has been in charge for five years at Lingfield, during which time the club has stayed at step five of non-league football, a feat that Dean is rightly proud of.
He also feels that this season has been a rather tough one but finishing in or around 15th position for a club of Lingfield 's stature is a good achievement.
It has not been announced as to what Lingfield will do about finding a replacement and whether Dean will have any input into that process.
