Chairman's statement - June 2017.
"I advised the Executive Committee, in March of this year, that I would be stepping down as Chairman at the June 2017 AGM and would not seek re-election as Chairman or a position on the Executive Committee for the following year.
A change in my employment circumstances in June 2016 saw additional job responsibilities resulting in more travel and accountability. It became clear during the year that attempting to balance the demands of being Chairman and satisfy the commitment to my employer was not in harmony.
I regretfully came to the conclusion that as enjoyable as it can be, being the Chairman of a progressive club, it doesn’t provide the fiscal rewards needed to get by. My circumstances may change in the years to come but for the immediate future I need to apply focus elsewhere.
I became Chairman in January 2013 and was a Committee Member since 2011 and would like to thank all those who have helped me along the way which has made for an entertaining and rewarding experience.
I am still and always will be a fan so look forward to meeting with many of you during the forthcoming season - COYC
