This was the first fixture played in season 13/14 in the Crowborough Community Stadium.
The opponents for this friendly were Hastings United who last season played two divisions above Crowborough, also having an excellent FA Cup run, before losing away at Middlesborough.
Even after conceding the first goal (og) the Crows never looked overawed and fought back to get a well-deserved equalizer, curtsey of a Sam Carrington penalty. Both sides played good attacking football and a draw was probably the fairest result.
The game was notable by the first appearance in Crowborough colours of Paul McCarthy and Jason Barton, with Wayne Clarke returning to his original home club.
