The home side had their first win in five games in their last fixture when they won 3-0 at home to Erith Town. Collins scored the Bears' first goal in the 22nd minute and then they received some help from the Dockers in the 30th minute when Duffy saw a straight red card, reducing Erith Town to ten men.
Bearsted went 2-0 up in the 35th minute when Scarlat scored and it remained 2-0 at half time. In the second half Scarlat scored his second and the Bears third in the 70th minute and it finished 3-0. In their previous four games to the Erith Town fixture they had lost 3-2 away at Beckenham Town, lost 2-0 at home to Sheppey United, drew 2-2 at home to Canterbury City and drew with Chatham Town at home by the same score, 2-2.
At the time of writing this preview they sit in 14th place in the table having gained 43 points from their 36 games. They won 13 matches, drawn 4 and lost 19, scoring 47 goals in the process but conceding 57 therefore, their goal difference stands at -10.
The Crows know that nothing but 3 points will do from this match because they sit 4 points behind second in the table, Whitstable Town, due to the Oystermen scoring an added-on time equaliser, for the second game on the trot, when they drew 1-1 at home on Saturday against Beckenham Town.
By the time this game is played the Crows will have a game in hand on the Oystermen as they are playing at home to AFC Croydon Athletic the night before and the Crows could be 4, 5 or 7 points behind them depending on what happens.
PLEASE NOTE: Kick off is 7:30pm, not 7:45pm as usual in the SCEFL for midweek league fixtures.
We look forward to seeing as many of you as possible at the game supporting the Crows.
