Crows need to forget cup exit.
It's back to SCEFL Premier Division action this Saturday as the battle for points resumes with an away game against Corinthian FC at Gay Dawn Farm, Valley Road, Longfield DA3 8LY. The much changed team for the last game against the Wells on Tuesday is likely to see five or six changes again as the Crows look to carry on their excellent form in the league and avenge a defeat they suffered at the hands of the home side earlier in the campaign at the Community Stadium by 3 goals to 2.
The appointed match officials shouldn't hold any surprises for the away side as they've all officiated at our matches previously, the referee is Zoltan Konkoly and his assistants are Matt Williams and Matthew Sell. I'm sure they'll have their usual good games and partake in an exciting fixture.
The home side have played 30 games, winning 15, drawing 4 and losing 11 and sit 6th in the table. In those games they've scored 49 and conceded 44, so have a small goal difference of 5 and they have 49 points, let's hope they still have that number after they've played us.
In our previous league matches against Corinthian we lost 4-1 away in the 2014/15 season and lost 4-2 at home which wasn't such a good start against them. The following season we got our first point against them in a 2-2 home draw before losing away again 3-0 in the February. Season 2016/17 saw us thump seven past them when they visited the Community Stadium in a 7-1 win and we won again when we visited Gay Dawn Farm later in the season, 3-1, thus doing our first double over them.
They have the upper hand results wise and seem to be a bit of a bogey side for us but that's something we'll have to overcome and get out of our minds if we are to get the points on Saturday.
They were in action on Tuesday night in the league whilst we were entertaining Tunbridge Wells FC when they played Erith Town FC at home and had to come from 1-0 down after 2 minutes to eventually win 2-1, the winning goal scored in the 80th minute by Connor Johnson.
Even though the weather has not been that great over the last couple of days, the pitch at Gay Dawn Farm is pretty good and normally drains well so we all hope that remains the case and the game goes ahead as scheduled. We also hope as many of you as possible make the effort to go and support the team and help them to get another three points in the bag.
