Crows out to avenge home defeat.
After a run of home games, the Crows are back on the road for this match as they take on the Rams of AFC Croydon Athletic at the Mayfield Stadium, Mayfield Road, Thornton Heath CR7 6DN.
The Crows will be looking to get back on track after the defeat they suffered at home against the other side from Croydon, Croydon FC, last Tuesday. Plus they will be looking to get all three points so they can maintain their challenge for the SCEFL title where they currently sit in second place in the table, one point behind leaders Ashford United but with a game in hand on them.
There is also another incentive of course, as the Rams won 2-1 back in September at the Community Stadium with goals from Chevan Xavier and Warren Mfula putting them 2-0 up before Attwood pulled a goal back for the Crows with five minutes left. However, the Crows couldn't get a second so the Rams left with the points.
The home side currently sit in 8th place in the table, 20 points behind us, having played a game more, 31 to our 30. However, it won't be an easy game for either side as the Rams have had a couple of heavy home defeats of late and will want to stop a third but did have a very good away result of late, of course, when drawing 3-3 away at Ashford United. They did lead three times in that match but were eventually pegged back each time, United's last goal coming very late in the game.
The man to watch closely for them is definitely Warren Mfula who is certainly putting his chances away this season but then we have our own players who will need to be watched by them so hopefully, a good game should be in prospect, especially as the weather promises to be quite good and it should definitely be warmer than it was on Tuesday night.
With our rivals for the title, Ashford United, travelling to play third placed Sevenoaks Town, the top of the table could change again but we have to do our bit first and whatever happens at Greatness Park will happen, we can't control that at all.
We look forward to seeing as many of you Crows travelling to support the team in this fixture as your support has made the difference on more than one occasion this season so far.
