Will JK Rowling be in attendance?
It's third versus fifteenth on Saturday when the Crows travel to the Martyn Grove to play Lordswood FC for a SCEFL fixture.
The home side have not had the best of seasons so far and the main problem they seem to have is that they concede too many goals in games. In their fifteen games so they've scored twenty-six goals but given away fifty-one therefore, they have a goal difference of minus twenty-five.
They have accumulated thirteen points from their fifteen matches, four wins, one draw and ten defeats. Their last league outing resulted in a 4-0 away defeat to rapidly rising Sevenoaks Town.
They have a player called Harry Potter in their registered player list, whether he'll be playing or not I don't know, although he did play in that game away at Sevenoaks Town. There was obviously no magic in that game, he's a goalkeeper by the way, but that's not to say the Crows should not be on their guard as this game is definitely a "banana" skin if there ever was one.
Their manager is Richard Styles who was appointed as manager in June of this year and aged 29 at the time of being appointed he must be one of, if not the youngest, manager in our division. He played for the club previously from 2010 until 2014 so he knows the club well.
His playing career has also seen him play for Chatham Town, Herne Bay, Sittingbourne, Erith & Belvedere and Tonbridge Angels as well as spending some time in the USA playing for New England Revolution.
Styles is a coach at the Elite Charlton Athletic Development Centre and is also Academy Manager at Players Football Academy (PFA) Development and Advanced Centres. During the 2013-14 season he worked as a Conditioning Coach for Chelsea Ladies 1st Team in the Women’s Super League. Most recently Richard was on the coaching staff at Erith Town with Martin and Joe Ford during the 2015/16 season.
Styles brought Dan Morrin to join him as his Assistant Manager when appointed and whilst their season hasn't gone as well as they hoped, the prospect of playing the Crows will no doubt motivate them and their players and our players will have to be prepared to fight toe to toe with them on Saturday if they are to get anything out of the game.
