Peacehaven & Telscombe FC leave for home empty handed.

Crows deservedly get all the points.
After their superb win away at Hassocks FC the previous Saturday, the Crows knew that a win at home to the visiting Peacehaven & Telscombe FC last Tuesday night would put them top of the table, at least until last Saturday when a full set of fixtures and the results gained by the Crows, Hassocks, Newhaven and Steyning respectively could change the order of the top four.
As has been witnessed over the last two seasons, since we came back to the SCFL, the Tye for some reason do not seem to like us, perhaps it is because in the eight league and cups games we have played against them in those two seasons, we have won every game, perhaps it is something else, who knows but they do make it rather obvious and last Tuesday was no different.
Whilst they may seem to rely on the more physical side of the game, especially their captain Barclay, who seemed to want to referee the whole game from start to finish, it has to be said they started the better of the two sides and had the better possession for the first 20 minutes or so and it was no surprise they took the lead in the 22nd minute, Capon running free to slot the ball past Grant.
Before the restart Welbourn had to be replaced by the returning Forster due to an injury and this seemed to stir the Crows into action and it was 1-1 after 34 minutes, a lovely piece of wing play by Killick led him to put a great cross over for the diving Smith to head home from six yards.
The game became a bit fractious at this point with Smith picking up a yellow for the Crows but Killick turned provider again for the goal which made it 2-1 in the 41st minute, Forster slotting home from the edge of the area after being set up by the Crows number 7.
The second half saw the Crows in control and creating some good chances. Smith was replaced by Feasey due to injury and within one minute of coming on, and with his first touch, he made it 3-1 with a lovely volley from twelve yards out from yet another Killick cross in the 60th minute.
From then on, the game became a bit fragmented due to both sides making multiple substitutions, however the Crows ended up winning and sitting at the summit of the SCFL Premier Division table.
Ollie Hyland was selected as the Crows MOTM, a good choice although Harrison Mayhew, Harvey Killick and Jack Mayhew must have run him close.
