The Crows looked to bounce back from being knocked out of the cup on Saturday with a quick turnaround, as Bank Holiday Monday saw us host Lingfield, back in the SCFL Premier league.

The Crows started the game on the front foot, which it’s fair to say was generally the theme of this game. The first 30 minutes saw The Crows moving the ball well and creating chances, but lacking the end product.

But then, on the 31st minute, a free kick swung in by Salter found Elliott Duncan who finished from close range, Muggsys men taking a deserved lead.

It was Duncan again who provided the main threat in the first half, as he sprung the offside trap with half time approaching, but a great recovery run from the Lingfield defender, did enough to prevent Duncan from scoring his second of the morning.

Harrison Mayhew, booked after Duncans goal softly, received a second soft yellow card and was sent off on the stroke of half time.

1-0 up and 1 man down, The Crows knew a big second half was ahead if we wanted the 3 points, and the chance to stay joint top of the league.

The second half saw the 10 men still dominate, although the game felt a little more open. Lewis Unwin opened the second half with a superb shot, the keeper making a superb save, low to his left.

Lingfield had a red card of their own on 55’ minutes and a game of 10v10 was to follow.

Nowe with even teams, The Crows really began to assert themselves on the game. Salter hit an amazing free kick over the wall from 20 yards out only for the Lingfield keeper, again to spare his sides blushes.

Ollie Hyland came close on the 63rd minute, Elliott Duncan drifting inside from the left before setting Hyland up who shot low, the shot going just wide to the keepers left.

Killick made a great run down the right before dragging his effort wide across the face of goal minutes later.

Hyland had another great chance, this time a header from a corner as we entered the last 20 minutes of the game.

Danny Powell beat his defender before his shot was tipped over on 73 minutes.

As the clock ran down the Lingfield number 4 was dismissed, sin binned, leaving them with 9.

The full time whistle went and The Crows maintain their unbeaten league form, 4 wins and a draw, leaving us joint top.
