The Crows took on the challenge of Farnham Town in the FA Cup in the Preliminary round, with Farnham coming into the game off a number of 4-0 wins and look set to fly in their division if their start is anything to go by.

Farnham began the game putting pressure on The Crows, but an early chance went begging as Forster drilled a free kick just wide. In the 9th minute Farnham were down to 10 men after a heavy tackle on Harry Forster.

After the red card, Crowborough grew into the game and looked to be taking full advantage of the extra man, but then, a neat Farnborough counter attack gave them the lead.

The game fizzled out at this point, presumably Farnham taking the sting out of the game, whilst The Crows were taking control of possession but not creating a great deal.

Farnham then started to come again, a quick counter attack ending in them having a curling effort hitting the bar.

Reacting well, The Crows looked to hit back, with Ollie Hyland the protagonist this time, having a number of efforts blocked or saved.

Murrain had a tame effort saved on 33 minutes, before Farnham stuck the ball in the back of the net again, which was ruled out for offside.

As the half drew to a close, Matt Larkin made an excellent save, high to his left after a fierce shot from Farnham Town.

Half time 1-0 down, and probably a fair reflection of the half.

The Crows started the second half brightly, with Murrain flashing an excellent chance across the face of goal from a tight angle.

Just as it felt like Crowborough were just beginning to find their way back into the game, the killer blow came in the 65th minute, following a free kick, saved by Larkin but onto the post, followed by a scramble around the 6 yeard box, and finally popping out to their player who finished.

The Crows fought to the end, Murrain rounded the keeper but put his effort just over, Hyland had another chance, but it wasn’t enough for The Crows to progress.
