Match Preview

Weather not supposed to be that great.
Our hosts have had a mixture of results of late, after being on their own winning run, 10 games on the trot, they've lost their last three, two in the league and one in a cup. The league defeats have come against Broadbridge Heath away, 1-0 and Shoreham FC at home 4-3.
Their cup defeat came on the same night as we played Peacehaven & Telscombe in the SCFA Senior Cup Second Round, they went down 4-0 away at Horsham YMCA in the same competition and round.
Their leading marksman is Liam Baitup who has just passed the 100 goal mark for them and averages nearly a goal a game in the SCFL. He'll need to be watched and I'm sure their manager, Tobi Hutchinson will have them well organised and set up to blunt our own attacking options.
I have not checked this fact personally but it would appear we haven't played them in a competitive fixture since 2011, that's what they've put on their website anyway. All I know is that whenever I've visited The Oval for a game, which is quite a few times as I was born in Eastbourne, the weather has been inverably cold, wet and very windy, especially if the tide is coming in.
The pitch has not been in particularly good condition either but then things may have improved since I was last there but they do have Langley Wanderers sharing their ground so it takes a few games on it during the season.
Whatever the weather is let's hope we all see a good game with plenty of attacking play and may the best team on the day win in the end.
