Second beats sixth in the big game of the night.

Four games scheduled, only three played.
Unfortunately, the AFC Uckfield Town v Lingfield game was postponed due to the home sides pitch failing an inspection due to the recent rainfall and being deemed unfit for play.

The big game of the night when it comes to automatic promotion or the play off births was Haywards Heath Town v Newhaven and it was the Dockers who went home with the all important three points with a 1-0 win, Alfie Rogers with the goal after 30 minutes, in front of 402 fans.
The result means that Newhaven still have a chance to win the title, especially as they play Steyning Town at home in their next game, however their visitors are still favourites out of these two to win the title as they have the better goal difference and their last game of the season is at home to AFC Uckfield Town who are favourites to be relegated.
Newhaven play away at Hassocks in their last game but they have insured themselves of a play off birth, with only the position to be decided, so will it be second, third, fourth or fifth, only time will tell.
Haywards Heath Town on the other hand might miss out on a play off birth altogether if those above them win or draw some of their games or the Heath do not pick up maximum points from their games.

Horsham YMCA v Midhurst & Easebourne ended up with a 1-0 win for the home side in front of 70 people. Taylor scored the winner after 85 minutes, a result that sees the home side occupy 14th position in the table, whilst the away side are in 10th place.

Little Common lost 4-1 at home to a revived Crawley Down Gatwick whose goals were scored by the in-form Leslie (2) and White (2). The away side were 3-0 up at the break and the home sides consolation goal was scored by Lambden after 56 minutes in front of 67 spectators.

That’s it for this midweek review. Let’s see what twists and turns happen this coming Saturday.
