Third and second draw at the Community Stadium so it is all rather tight at the top.

It’s advantage Steyning Town but still plenty to play for.
Here’s a run down of the results which saw Steyning Town become favourites for the top spot, however there is still hope for the others to finish in the top five, if not top spot.

AFC Varndeanians lost 3-1 at home to a resurgent Shoreham in front of 79 fans. Two quick goals in the first half by Overy for the home side and Santos for the visitors saw it 1-1, Mitchell then scored for Shoreham so 2-1 to them at the break. Street the scored in added on time to make it 3-1.

Crawley Down Gatwick v Loxwood ended up 4-1 to the home side in front of 72 watching fans. White, Clements, Leslie (2) scored for the home side, whilst Pinder scored the solitary away goal for the visitors.

The top game of the day drew the biggest crowd, 487, as Crowborough Athletic took on Newhaven at the Community Stadium, a game that neither could afford to lose and even a draw might not be enough.
Overall it was a tense affair but still entertaining and it was the hosts who took a 54th minute lead, Puffette heading in a Goldsmith cross. The visitors drew level in the 73rd minute when Lee Robinson headed in an Edwards cross and that was the way it finished.

Eastbourne United Association beat visitors Pagham by 2-1, Davidson made it 1-0 to the away side at the break but also received two yellow cards and was therefore sent off later. The home side won the game through goals from Ball and Ovenden in the second half in front of 78 fans.

Hassocks kept their play off hopes alive with a 5-0 victory against the visitors, Bexhill United. Goals from Harding, Stephenson, Troak, Bull and Wilkes in front of 170 spectators proved too much for the Pirates.

A mid table battle between Horsham YMCA and Lingfield went the way of the home side by a 1-0 score, Toure scoring in the 78th minute. They did see Carmo sent off in the second half though for two yellows, the first in the 74th minute, the second only 6 minutes later.

Little Common v Haywards Heath Town went the away of the visitors, Abudiore scoring the only goal in the 57th minute, a result which keeps their play off hopes alive in front of 127 spectators.

Midhurst & Easebourne v Eastbourne Town was played out in front of 62 fans. The away side went behind in the 29th minute, Carter scoring but Duah equalised for Town in the 32nd minute, so 1-1 at the break. Duah scored again in the 70th minute to earn all three points for the visitors, a result which keeps them right in the hunt for a play off birth.

Peacehaven & Telscombe beat bottom of the table visitors, AFC Uckfield Town 4-0 in front of 270 people watching. Unfortunately at the time of writing there is no information available as to who scored for the home side.

Last, but not least, leaders Steyning Town secured the three points they needed to remain in pole position for promotion when they beat visitors, Saltdean United 5-1. The away side took the lead in the 21st minute through Damario but Goldson scored in the 31st minute to make it 1-1 at the break.
Steyning then scored four goals without reply in the second half through Barnes (2) and Shooman (2) in front of 121 fans. They only have two games to play, away at Newhaven and at home to AFC Uckfield Town on the last day of the season.

Still all to play for and the battle for the play off births is definitely something to watch as there will be a few twists and turns during the last three weeks of the season.
