All football suspended indefinitely

Hi everyone and welcome to 2021, currently feeling very similar to 2020!

I’m sure you’re already well aware but all football activity is currently suspended indefinitely while we continue to fight the coronavirus, and at this time, there’s no real indication of when it might return. You can read statements from the FA, the Sussex FA, and the SCEFL here;

As you can imagine, these are very difficult times for a football club, on all levels, but since the new committee took over last summer, we are in reasonable shape to ride out this new lockdown and return stronger than ever when conditions allow.

I know we’ve said this before but it bears repeating; we would not be here without the collective efforts and goodwill of everyone associated with Crowborough Athletic FC, from our players to our volunteers, from spectators to our amazing sponsors, from parents to coaches, everyone has dug in and done what they can to keep this club up on it’s feet. We can’t thank you enough.

Despite the challenges, we’ve made some progress, particularly in areas such as the refurbishment of the kit, right through all levels at the club, to the maintenance of the stadium pitch and preliminary efforts to get the additional pitches at Alderbrook back up to playing standard for our youth teams. We made every effort in the stadium to keep visiting teams and spectators as safe as possible, while games were allowed, and we’ve learnt a tremendous amount from doing that. We’ve repaired things, tidied things, painted things, hung things, and generally audited the operation, so that when we return, we’ll hit the ground running. Now, we just have to be patient.

In the meantime, please please please follow the rules and the guidance and keep yourselves and your loved ones safe.

We’ll see you all very soon.
