No time to rest.

Time certainly flies.
Wow where did that go? One whole month on as Chairman since I was elected. The Executive Committee have been busy this month, and what it has proved is that the Team we have are just amazing.

Pre-season.
Pre-season is well under way and what can I say about our Management Team? “Fantastic” springs to my mind but it really doesn’t do justice to any of the Boys and Girls! In the face of adversity what do they say? “When the going gets tough, the tough get going”. The squad they are assembling, I just know, you will be glad to come and watch! All I can say is I was blown away by, you, our fantastic supporters, against Eastbourne United! Brilliant thank you so much to you all that turned up to see our first pre-season win!
The guys put on a show and the “Management Team” decided that just 9, yes that was 9, changes at half-time would give them a chance to look at all of the guys that were able to make the game. We are fortunate to have a Management Team that can assemble such a mass of talent! Thank you Team, I'm truly amazed at the talent you have assembled.

Off the pitch.
Off the pitch we have been a bit busy as well. A lot of the inherited issues are ongoing, frustrating but understandable, it doesn’t mean we are not trying to resolve them but these things always take longer than expected to get past the line. What I do know as Chairman, is with, such a good Team in place that I know we will get there! In the next few weeks I am confident we will announce a few new arrivals on the Executive Committee. Keep your eyes posted on the Website. There are so many moving cogs at the moment that I honestly believe that we can look forward positively into the future.

New U6 coach.
One significant announcement I can make to you is that the Executive Committee are delighted to announce, our long term ambition, a premier new U6 coach which we can now reveal. We wanted a Coach that would send out a serious message to prospective parents that their children would receive the very best coaching available. Well, can you get any better than our First Team Manager, Sean Muggeridge as their coach? Sean will be the welcoming face to the prospective Harry’s and Harriet’s to this great Club. A message of intent as we continue to scour the area for brilliant coaches to make our teams of the future the best that boys and girls can be!

Excited.
I can barely stop myself but I have some fantastic news up my sleeve, so you will just have to wait for a few details to be finalised but I love the “Wow’ factor. Soon I promise!

Clubhouse.
We have been blessed by a positive trading summer in the bar. We always focus on the football side but without our bar, like all football clubs, we would struggle. Paul Rawson, our Bar Manager without complaint, well nearly, has been outstanding.

In general.
Malcolm Simpson and Dave Bristow must be sick of the sight of the hoses that water the pitch! Aimee Bristow for her dogged desire to find the best Kit Deal available. Hilary who has taken more minutes in the last few weeks than ever before. Eric for all the work done from overseas. To all who supported the World Cup in the Clubhouse. To Mark for his support, to Jay who popped in to take the “P” but ended up involved. To Mick for cleaning the goalposts and his generous donation, to Paul for washing the kits. To this great Club, to our supporters, helpers, friends new and old, my sincere thanks.
Let us never never forget our club motto - “Together we achieve”.

Enjoy.
Enjoy the rest of the summer and let’s all look forward to our trip abroad for the first game of the season, well it is an island, so let’s all go to Sheppey! Got to be a song there.

All the best.
COYC.
Clive.
